Inverness Cat Rescue was set up to rescue and re-home unwanted and stray cats and kittens in the Inverness area. We have over 20 years experience in dealing with the welfare and rehabilitation of needy cats/kittens.

We are funded entirely by donations, and rely on the generosity of cat-lovers. All donations of money, food, blankets etc. are most gratefully welcomed. (Can be collected).

All our cats at Inverness Cat Rescue are neutered, vaccinated, and health checked, and come with a 4-week free insurance plan. (For details on Petplan's free 4 week cover see 'Advice' page). If you would like to visit the cats please contact us on 01463 226279.

LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF A LOVED PET.

Before humans die they write their last will and testament, and give their home and all that they have to those they leave behind. If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask.

To a poor and lonely stray I'd give:

-My happy home.

-My bowl and cosy bed, soft pillows and all my toys.

-The lap which I loved so much.

-The hand that stroked my fur, and the sweet voice which spoke my name.

I'd will to the sad scared shelter cat the place I had in my human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.

So, when I die, please do not say 'I will never have a pet again, for the loss and pain are more than I can stand.'

Instead, go find an unloved cat, one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give MY place to HIM.

This is the only thing I can give.... the love I left behind.

ANON.

HOMES WANTED

BURNS

BURNS is looking for a new home because her owners feel that she is becoming very unhappy living in a busy household with boisterous children, and needs to feel secure in a quieter environment. Here is what her owners say about her....

Burns is an 8 year old female cat. Burns is looking for a quiet home where she can relax and preferably where there is someone around most of the day as she is used to company. She is a quiet and affectionate cat who enjoys the company of people, once she gets to know them. In the winter she prefers to spend her time curled up on a lap or cosy chair only venturing out briefly each day.In the warmer weather she loves to sit out in the garden and go exploring. She is an excellent mouser and bird catcher and would be best suited to a rural environment where she can hunt to her hearts content. Burns should be an only cat as she tends to be bullied by other cats. Burns has never had any health problems and is spayed. She is litter trained but prefers to go to the toilet outside, so tends to only use her tray at night when she is shut indoors.  Burns is not in our care. For further information please contact Holly on 01463 237747.

QUIL

QUIL  is looking for a new home, he is a very lovely boy, 18 months old (24/7/10 birth date). We have had him since 12 weeks old and have never had any trouble with him whatsoever. Reason for re homing is down to the fact that I have young children who like to play with Quil but he really wants to be left alone most of the time (can play rough at times though), therefore a family with no children would suit him best! He also would prefer a home with no other pets.

He is an indoor cat, through his own choice, and uses his litter tray very well (wood chip cat litter), he doesn't meow very much and is a very quiet cat :)

Quil really deserves to be  loved, and re-homed in a permanent home.

He has been chipped and neutered and immunized up to date.

Any more details needed, please contact Angela on 01463 709722. (Quil is not in our care).

Our Accommodation

Our accommodation consists of purpose-built insulated cat cabins. They have electricity installed, and each cat has a heated bed in their ‘bedroom’ area, and has access to outdoors. All are provided with toys and are groomed and given individual attention each day.

Kittens are housed in kitten pens in our house where they can have frequent contact and handling from us, and also have the opportunity to be familiarised with everyday household noises (e.g. vacuum, washing machine, etc.) We specialise in hand-rearing orphaned kittens and have successfully reared many litters from the age of just a few hours old.

We also have isolation facilities to cater for ill cats or nursing mothers.
